Frequently asked questions
Do I need to download an app?
No. Le Sommelier opens in your browser and installs on your phone or computer home screen, without going through an app store.
How is the drinking window worked out?
For each vintage, a calculation takes into account the region, the appellation, the style of wine, the vintage and the windows published by critics. It produces five markers: youth, maturity, prime, peak and decline. It is an estimate, which you can adjust to your taste.
Where do the critic scores come from?
From the pages where critics and guides publish them. They are checked before appearing on the wine sheet, and copied as written.
Can I import my cellar?
Yes: from a spreadsheet (Excel, CSV), a document (PDF, Word), a photo of an invoice or your Vivino data export. Your tasting history can come along too.
Can the sommelier be wrong?
Yes. Its advice, like the drinking-window estimates and label reading, is produced by artificial intelligence and is indicative. It answers from your own bottles, not from a generic list.
Where is my data?
Hosted in the European Union and never sold. You can export everything or delete your account from your Profile.
How much does it cost?
The free version gets you started. Premium costs €2.99 or CHF 2.99 a month, or €23.99 a year; Premium+ €4.99 or CHF 4.99 a month, or €39.99 a year. 14-day free trial, once per account.
Who can use it?
Adults only, since the app is about wine. It is available in English and French.
